Strait of Hormuz reopens under tensions- Stability?

As per Iran's deal, Iran has lifted the Strait of Hormuz after Lebanon had agreed to join the ceasefire.

Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, announced the complete open of Strait of Hormuz for the remaining period of ceasefire.

Iran has laid down strict conditions for ships to pass:

  1. SHIPS MUST BE COMMERCIAL:-  Military vessels are prohibited, and neither ships nor cargo (large scale shipping) belonging to hostile countries.
  2. DESIGNATED ROUTES:- Ships must pass through routes designated by Iran and Maritime Organisation to ensure safety and continuation of Maritime trade.
  3. COORDINATION WITH IRAN:- Vessel transit must be coordinated with Iranian forces responsible for this process.

TRUMP'S CLAIMS:

The U.S. President, Donald Trump, made a post, that the U.S. Naval Blockade will pertain on Iran in full force, despite the reopen of Strait of Hormuz.

He later made a statement that Iran has promised for providing all the uranium enrichment they contain. As of now there is no confirmation by Iran for the same.

Experts believe Iran is unlikely to surrender its enriched uranium easily, drawing parallels to Oslo Accords and the perceived mistakes made by Palestinian leadership in the past.

Iran maintains that it will not be misled and remains ready to defend its interests.

IRAN'S COUNTER RESPONSE"

Shortly after Trump's statement that Iran had agreed never to close the Strait of Hormuz again. The spokesperson of Iran's President, Seyyed Mohammad Mehdi Tabatabaci, has denied it and calls this "baseless statement of enemy" & "completely misleading".

Esmaeil Baghaei, dismissed Trump's statement as "enemy propaganda" and warned that Iran is the guardian of the Strait of Hormuz, the blockade on Iranian ports will be considered a violation & consequently terminate the Strait of Hormuz again.

"If the agreements are violated on the other side, we will also take retaliatory actions. If the naval blockade continues, Iran will also take necessary actions."

This suggest Iran still sticks to its nations' interest, and is ready for both way- diplomacy and war- for protecting its nation.

TEMPORARY CEASEFIRE?

Meanwhile the Deputy Foreign Minister has rejected temporary ceasefire and seeks an end to war across regions.

He stated that Iran is no longer interested in "temporary" ceasefire, they want a total end to war in region.

So America and Iran have once again come face to face on the Strait of Hormuz. we will consider it a ceasefire violations and we will completely close the Strait of Hormuz again.

ISRAEL ON TEMPORARY CEASEFIRE

Netanyahu remarked that at the request of Donald Trump, we agreed to a temporary ceasefire in Lebanon at his request.  That means they are only resorting to ceasefire on the request of Mr. Trump.

He considers that there are different ways to deal with threats, which shouldn't be elaborated.

Signaling their collaborated work with America and a readiness for war escalation.

The President of Lebanon also made a statement on ceasefire that we will not bow down.

MEANING FOR WORLD

As of now, the Strait of Hormuz is now open under strict conditions- until the ceasefire.

  • The global commercial trade can continue for a while.
  • Short term stability in oil supply

The conflict is at its edge, with its next step uncertain, a deal or violation ceasefire.

WHAT NEXT?

1. STABILITY:-
There is possible stability after negotiations succeed after Iran's assets are given back.

2. CONTROLLED TENSION: As of now there is a pause of to the conflict but under a lot of pressure.

3. TRIGGERED ESCALATION: Any violation of the ceasefire or shipping in the Strait could trigger war escalation.

FINAL STANDOFF

As of now no final date has been announced as to when talks will take place but Iran has made it clear if blockade continues, then we will violate the ceasefire, leading to retaliation and closure the Strait of Hormuz again.

The second round of talks will take place only when consensus is reached on all issues, including, America has agreeing to de-froze Iran's assets.

The war is at its edge with no clarity of its next step. This ceasefire portrays more than calculated reality- a nation unwilling to surrender.
