U.S. Signals Hormuz Blockade as Iran Warns of Retaliation; Global Oil Concerns Rise
After the failed negotiation, Donald Trump has decided to enforce a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz from Monday.
U.S. President Donald Trump, stated that any Iranian ship near the American blockade, will be intercepted immediately. America will thoroughly investigate it. Especially, those ships that have paid illegal toll to Iran, will not be granted safe passages.
The same method ,will be used to stop the ships, of drug smugglers in the sea.
It has clearly said that it will not let the Iranian ships which are carrying Iranian oil go. Their strategic objective is equally clear - cut off Iran's oil ports, and with it, the financial backbone of the regime.
IRAN'S BLOCKADE ACROSS GULF
The IRGC claimed if any of its ship is targeted or any American ship approaches the Strait of Hormuz, it will attack it & have also reported to block all ports of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman and will not further allow their goods or oil to go ahead.
Mohammed Bhagher Ghalibaf, the Iranian Parliamentary Speaker, stated "Enjoy the current pump figures. With the so-called 'blockade', Soon you'll be nostalgic for $4-$5 gas".
Iran's ambassador in India, Mohammad Fatah Ali, has said that no toll has been charged from the ships that passed through the State of Hormuz for India.
OIL DISRUPTION RISK:
THE CHINA FACTOR:
U.S. is indirectly denting China by the blockade. As of 1/3 China's oil goes through Iran and mostly through Strait of Hormuz.
China's Defense Minister, Admiral Dongjun ,bluntly warned America not to interfere in our affairs and stated:
- That the Chinese ships are currently coming and going in the waters of Hormuz and will continue the same.
- China has trade and energy agreements with Iran that China will respect and uphold it.
- Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz and it is open to us. China has recognized Iran's right to travel there.
GLOBAL DIVIDE:
Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of UK, informed that the UK has ruled out of any involvement in a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, and that ceasefire should be imposed immediately in Lebanon.Meanwhile, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated close coordination with the U.S. administration regarding developments related to Iran.
WHAT NEXT?
Following failed talks and a temporary ceasefire, both sides appear to be regrouping and reassessing their strategies.
With military signals intensifying and multiple global actors involved, the situation remains highly sensitive, with the risk of escalation continuing to rise.
